Birthday Party

We had an awesome birthday party for Grace this year.  I really wanted to do something for her that she would love and maybe even remember.  My sister claims she still remembers her 3rd birthday party.  I on the other hand don't remember any parties before 12 (in our family that would have been 3, 6, and 9 that I forget all of those:().

Grace's birthday was on a Sunday this year so we started off the day eating breakfast, going to church, having lunch and then going down for an early nap.  I assumed she wouldn't fall asleep because we put her down so early but of course she did fall asleep. Then we woke her up after 45 minutes to take her to her party which was from 2-4.

Grace's party was at a local tumbling studio that offers parties.  They run the whole things and provide cupcakes, decorations and an optional craft (we did opt to do it).  It was amazing.  I didn't have to do anything but call and book it.  They asked what 2 colors Grace wanted and she picked yellow and red.  We decided to do an all girls party and invite girls that are right at Grace's age and/or she's really close to.  We ended up with 12 girls total so it was perfect.

The party was set in a giant gym with a spring loaded tumbling floor.  And the girls had the run of the place.  The hostess was a young girl who teaches classes at the studio.  She got out a few things for the kids to play on, then led them in stretches and various activities that involved crossing the floor like animals.  Then they all made a hair bow for the craft.  They also played duck, duck, goose and ring around the rosie.  This was capped off by an obstacle course.

Next, everyone went to the kitchen/lounge area which was decorated with red and yellow and ate chocolate cupcakes decorated in red and yellow.  Then we all returned to the gym to watch Grace open presents (if you were there and are reading this thank you so much for the gifts!).  Finally the girls got to run around and play more.

Everyone had a blast and Grace LOVED it.  It was so fun watching her face throughout the whole thing.
