Spring is Here

We kicked off spring and my spring break this weekend! I'm so excited the weather is warm and I'm on spring break this week. I can relax, go for walks, and read to my hearts content.

The first event of the weekend was Jared's 30th birthday party. We had a great time hanging out with friends and family for the whole afternoon. I really enjoyed playing American Idol on the Nintendo Wii that one of Jared's friends brought.

Then on Sunday we went to Indianapolis for the day. It was absolutely beautiful outside and we really enjoyed just walking around downtown. We went to the Indiana State Museum to see the IMAX show Whales and Dolphins 3D. It was pretty good. Then we headed to the Weber Grill Restaurant for an early dinner. That was amazing from the beginning when we were given soft pretzel rolls, to my Mojito, to my ceasar salad, to my garlic mashed potatoes, to my perfectly grilled ribeye! If you're interested Matt had beef brisket, sausage and ribs! Finally, we went to an Indaian Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks game. The Bucks lost but I still had fun at my first pro basketball game.

Computer vs. Anne (2-0)

The computer won again twice this weekend. And by winning I mean sucking me in to 2 more time consuming activities. It all started on Saturday morning when Matt told me that the video game industry is growing the most rapidly in the women over 35 demographic. He read an article about it that mentioned the game "Diner Dash". Even though I'm not over 35 yet, I thought I might be interested in the game. 4 hours later, I seated, served, billed, and cleaned up after way too many computer animated people. Unfortunately, I haven't played since Saturday but I daydream about it while I'm off doing other things. Tomorrow night I should be home for a while in the evening so I'll get a few more levels under my belt. If you're interested in this game or other similar games go to www.dinerdash.com. Then Abe and Mandy came to visit and they convinced us to join Facebook. I have been considering it for a little bit just to keep up with people but I didn't realize what a profound impact it would have on my life. If you're not on Facebook, you're one of the few left. It's not just for college students. It's been fun seeing what old friends are up to and just getting in touch with people.

P.S. I just got tickets to go see High School Musical Ice Tour for Friday night. That will be pretty awesome, so I'll blog about that once the grand event has taken place.

Working For God

In my almost-5 years of living in the working world, I've found myself on a journey to experience God not just in my "quiet time" activities or ministry events or Sunday morning worship time.  Work takes up the majority of my waking hours, so God has to be in that somehow, right?  I've found there aren't that many resources out there that attempt to make disciples of the working world, teaching men and women to work for God from 9-5.  Please send me any good books/links if they're out there.
