Caleb - 9 Months

One of Caleb's favorite things to do is look out the window.

This Saturday Caleb turned 9 months old!  We are now sliding down hill towards 1.  I am excited to start planning birthday celebration(s) after the holidays are over.  I'm not really sure what we are going to do (whether it will be just family or if we'll do a friends thing too) but I know it's going to be green.  And it's perfect because his birthday is on a Saturday so we can celebrate on his birthday.  Allright, here's a report for this month.

Sleeping:  No changes.  Two 2 hourish naps at 9 and 1 and long nights.  Caleb has actually been needing to go to bed around 6:30 and gets up at 7.  This kid can sleep.

Eating:  Still nursing and starting to think about the end.  I can't believe we only have 3 months left.  He's also eating table food like a champ.  Twice in the last 2 weeks he's eaten a whole avocado at dinner.  He also loves carbs and fruit.  Sometimes he'll just stare at his veggies until I mix something with them like cottage cheese and then he's fine.

Milestones:  Caleb has done a few fun new things this month.  The one that is most exciting to me is he is signing more.  We started working on it with him and now when his tray is empty he'll sign for more.  We really need to teach him all done because he currently rips his bib off and throws it on the floor when he's done. He also started clapping this month (which is super cute because Grace loves to clap with him).

One mobile thing Caleb has gotten really good at is cruising.  We have a sectional couch that he can pull up on and go around the whole L in several seconds.  He has also climbed up 3 stairs so we're starting to keep the gate closed.

Teething: This month Caleb cut another of his top teeth and the right side top tooth.  So, now he has 5 teeth.  The 5th one was rough because he had a miserable cold at the same time he was cutting the tooth.  No fun for him!

9 month appointment:  Caleb had his 9 month appointment last week and everything was great.  He weighed 20 lbs 13 oz and was in the 57th percentile.  Major slow down in growth because of mobility but I wasn't surprised at all.  His height/length was 27.5 inches and I think it was inaccurate.  He was squirming like crazy while being measured.
